
Beauty reconsidered: we need beauty to transform society.
What I propose is that instead of being an afterthought, or something we reserve for special occasions, Beauty is a value that we use to guide our decisions in daily life.

Beauty pierces our rational sense. It can make us do stupid things (e.g. Romeo & Juliet). It can drive us on to greatness (e.g. Michaelangelo).
In just 2 months singing in choir I’ve learned so much about collaboration, leadership, working under pressure and other things relative to running a business.
What we don’t see are messy beginnings. The jumble of words as the playwright agonizes over the plot. The first hesitant stroke of paint on the canvas. The hundreds of lines she threw out before hitting on that perfect, “first” one.
Watching my father start a software company and seeing it support dozens of people throughout its 30+ years of existence has made a lasting impact on me.
